Storytelling lies at the core of tabletop games, but many modern systems drift from this in favour of complex and hard-to-learn rules. The Fallen Sun tabletop roleplaying game aims to push back against that, with simple, easy to understand mechanics that are designed to maximise immersion and flexibility.

Complete with a dedicated system for developing modifications, a unique and exciting combat system that encourages cooperation, and a healthy level of unpredictability and chaos, the Fallen Sun system is exciting, vibrant, and only just beginning. We'd super appreciate any feedback you have on your experiences with it, and are open to any and all suggestions from the community. 

When will the final version of this system release?

To be completely honest, we don't know yet! The system continues to evolve, and while we're happy to let others see what we're making, we don't want to rush the process. As Miyamoto would say, a delayed game is eventually good – but a rushed game is bad, forever.

What do I need to play?

The only tools you'll need outside of the rulebook are a set of six sided dice (we recommend 4 or 5), and some paper to take a note of your character's attributes. Other tools that can be fun include a set of antique scales in order to illustrate advantage, tokens and maps to illustrate exploration, or cards with character portraits to hand out to players, but these are entirely optional. 

What setting is this system designed for?

The system is deliberately setting-agnostic, allowing for a lot of customisation. We've personally play tested it with steampunk, fantasy, gothic horror, and cyberpunk settings – all with plenty of success. We will, however, be adding a chapter on the "official" setting that the system is designed for. 

Does this system use AI generated content?

No! All of our content is made by actual people, including all art, writing, and any other elements added to the system over time. We believe that AI can be a valuable tool for many areas; spelling and grammar checks, wording simplification, and idea generation are all great examples of where AI language models shine. However, nothing quite surpasses the human touch in a project, and we believe that the final product should involve real, actual people – not just something a robot generated based on some algorithms.
